初中英语任务型阅读命题实例:Ray Charles Robinson

【语篇材料】

  Ray Charles Robinson, a blind musician in America, was famous for his recordings of jazz, rock and roll, blues and country music. But the world knew him better as Ray Charles. He had a huge influence on American popular music.

  The song Let's Go Get Stoned was an example of Ray Charles' own kind of music----his own sound. He had worked hard for several years to create that sound. No one ever tried it before. He mixed black church music, blues, and rock and roll. The sound was extremely successful. In the 1950s, his records began to sell millions of copies. At the same time, Ray Charles recorded jazz music. Those records sold well, too. Critics said they were new and exciting.

  Ray Charles became famous because he could play blues, rock and jazz. He also liked other kinds of music. He told record company officials that he wanted to record an album of country-and-western music.

  The president of the record company told him it would be a mistake. He said Ray's fans would not buy the album. But Charles disagreed. He believed he would gain many new fans to replace the few he might lose. He produced the album and it was an immediate success.

  The album was called Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music. Many of the songs were major hits. One of the most popular was I Can't Stop Loving You. It was a country-and-western song with Ray Charles' sound of blues and black church music.

  啥叫任务型阅读命题?就是用“任务型教学”的原理来针对一个语篇出习题或考题。

  因此,首先要搞清楚啥叫“任务型教学”。

  任务型教学(Task-based Language Teaching)是指教师通过引导语言学习者在课堂上完成任务来进行的教学。这是20世纪80年代兴起的一种强调“在做中学”(learning by doing)的语言教学方法,是交际教学法的发展,在世界语言教育界引起了人们的广泛注意。这种“用语言做事”(doing things with the language)的教学理论也逐渐引入我国的基础英语课堂教学,是我国外语课程教学改革的一个走向。该理论认为:掌握语言大多是在活动中使用语言的结果,而不是单纯训练语言技能和学习语言知识的结果。在教学活动中,教师应当围绕特定的交际和语言项目,设计出具体的、可操作的任务,学生通过表达、沟通、交涉、解释、询问等各种语言活动形式来完成任务,以达到学习和掌握语言的目的。任务型教学法是吸收了以往多种教学法的优点而形成的,它和其它的教学法并不排斥。

  这么枯燥的一大段,读不下去了吧?没事,结合这个定义,凌哥将“任务型阅读”总结成两点:

  1. 使用英语来完成与语篇有关的单个任务或综合性任务。

  2. 用给定材料中的信息(词句或内容)完成新的任务。

  凌哥,第一点不是废话么?难道是使用汉语?当然不是废话了。

  传统阅读语篇的命题是选择题或者判断题,考生只需要理解英语,并不需要使用英语。所以,凌哥个人认为,任务型阅读命题的最低要求,是要运用词汇。有些题型,比如“句子排序题”、“选择句子并将其标号填入短文”等,只不过是变相的阅读理解而已,算不得是任务型阅读。

  下面凌哥举七个例子来呈现任务型阅读的命题题型,抛砖引玉啦。

【题型一】

  用1-2个句子写出每个段落的大意。

【题型二】

  使用短文中出现的单词补全句子。

Paul is not popular in the group because he often ___________ with others but he is seldom able to produce a better idea.

【题型三】

  使用英语解释句子中的划线单词。

He produced the album and it was an immediate success.

【题型四】

  在短文的横线中填入一个合适的单词(如果想要降低难度,则给出首字母)。

... His father's opinion had a huge ________ on his behaviour.

【题型五】

  为Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music制作一张宣传海报。

【题型六】

  整理信息填入表格。

【题型七】

  中途改写和接续。请在省略号部分改写/续写,发挥想象力。
