与人类一样,安博塞利狒狒的寿命也受到社会阶级与社会关系的影响。 狒狒。图片来源:Pixabay 撰文 李姗珊 编辑 魏潇 安博塞利的狒狒研究计划 1963 年,当 Jeanne Altmann 与丈夫 Stuart 来到肯尼亚的安博塞利盆地寻找合适的狒狒研究场地时,她没有想到自己的一生会在狒狒的世界中度过。在马赛-安博塞利自然保护区进行了一年多的研究后,她回到了芝加哥大学。这一年的经历让 Jeanne 对狒狒产生了兴趣,1971 年 6 月,在 Stuart 的劝说下,他们重新回到了肯尼亚公园,并一同创办了直至今日的安博塞利狒狒研究计划(Amboseli Baboon Research Project)。 安博塞利项目的开创,促进了不少对野生动物生态具有里程碑意义的研究。这其中包括了《狒狒生态学》的出版以及狒狒行为的系统观察方法论 [1]。关于方法论的论文于 1974 年发表,至今已经被引用超过 1 万 6 千多次,而 Jeanne Altmann 也早已成为普林斯顿大学的行为生态学名誉教授。“他们的研究改变了这个领域。”美国纽约市立大学灵长类动物学家 Larissa Swedell 如此评价。至今为止,该项目已经记录了长达 49 年的数据。 狒狒的生态观察 有了 49 年的庞大数据库,科研团队能够探究其他野生动物研究项目无法解答的问题。比如,影响狒狒,尤其是雄性狒狒生存状况的社会因素是什么。由于雄性狒狒在种群中的生活状态不如雌性稳定——它们更容易受到阶级等因素的影响,在不同种群间流窜。因此,探明雄性狒狒的生存状况,需要大样本量的支持。 沿用 Jeanne 的研究方法,如今的安博塞利项目负责人 Susan C.
