【原】eat crow，不要理解为“吃乌鸦”

eat crow 的字面意思是“吃乌鸦”，但通常我们不用它的字面意思，可以意为“丢脸，被迫收回自己说的话，被迫认错”，寓意：

1、being proven wrong after taking a strong stand 

在采取强硬立场后被证明是错误的

2、admitting to being wrong often causing great embarrassment 

承认自己错了往往会引起极大的尴尬

3、being humble when proven wrong 

当被证明是错误的时候要谦虚

例如：

解析：now that 在这里作从属连词，相当于 seeing that 和 considering，可以意为“既然”，放在句首或句中。
