前段时间,我们邀请四届奥运教练 姿势跑法创始人 Dr. Nicolas Romanov聊了聊他来中国教授跑步的体会,前两天,他在回俄罗斯出差前给我们寄来了这封热情洋溢的信,写给中国跑步爱好者。

Since my first visit to China with the Mexican National Triathlon Team for the ITU World Cup in 2007, I never stopped admiring the country and its people. I knew about ancient China, its great philosophers, and history from my high school and university years, but it was a revelation to meet modern time people, perceive their spirit and finally understand how they developed their country so fast in every direction, including sport and fitness. 

2007年,我跟随墨西哥国家铁三队来中国参加ITU世界杯。那是我第一次来中国,但在此之前,我已经对这个美丽的国度充满向往。高中和大学时,我就被中国古老的文化、灿烂的历史,和伟大的哲学家们所吸引;而来到中国,和现代的中国人打交道、了解他们的所思所想,更让我受益匪浅。我逐渐了解到为什么这个国家能在这么短的时间内得到如此迅速的发展——不仅在经济领域,而是各个领域:包括运动健康领域。

One of the main signs of the depth of this development is seen not so much in elite sport, which is a well-known fact in the world, but in the fast growing popularity of fitness among every day people, especially in running. In the following years, as I visited the country again and again, I was happy to see more and more runners on the streets of Beijing and Shanghai, and other cities I visited and experience a great desire to help all those people make their running more skillful and injury-free. 

全世界都公认,竞技体育的出类拔萃并不能代表一个国家运动健康领域的发展水平。真正能体现这个领域发展水平的,是普通民众对运动健身,特别是跑步的热爱程度。2007年初访中国之后,我又多次拜访中国。每一次我都惊喜地发现,中国的跑者越来越多!北京、上海、广州......跑者们在城市的街头巷尾快乐地跑着,这使我产生了想要帮助他们跑得更科学、同时避免受伤的愿望。

Since the running boom started in the early seventies, the injuries have become a widespread problem and it had grown to an epidemic level over last 40 years in the USA and Europe, reaching 80-85% among recreational runners. That problem was never solved either by science or medical community, coaches or doctors. Footwear companies promised to eliminate that problem, but never fulfilled their promise. In all of scientific studies, training regimen by coaches and running shoes innovations by footwear companies, there was one thing missing, which was actually the main cause of the problem, and that is a proper running technique and the method of teaching it. 

自从70年代早期的跑步热以来,受伤已经成为一个世界范围内都很普遍的问题。在过去的40年里,美国和欧洲的休闲跑者中,受伤率已经达到了现象级的80%到85%。但这个问题并没有被运动科学届的专业教练,或是医学界的医生们解决。跑鞋品牌曾承诺会解决这个问题,但从未真正实现。在所有的科学研究、训练方案、跑鞋品牌进行的跑鞋创新里,大家都遗漏了一样真正重要的东西,它恰恰是造成受伤的根本原因——那就是正确的跑步技术及其教授方法。

From my point of view, with an exponential growth of the number of runners in China, injuries will unfortunately and inevitably follow as a logical consequence for the running community, unless the skill of running becomes a primarily focus in their efforts to achieve success in distance running and marathon. Watching the enthusiasm of new runners, buying shoes and outfits, signing up for races and marathons, I was guessing how long their excitement would last – to the first injury in training, a painful finish in a marathon, requiring long recovery and healing, and wondering how much of their desire to continue that running endeavor would remain. What I wanted to say, which I am saying for the last 40 years – please do not rush to compete. Sign up to run a marathon but do give yourself at least 4-6 months to prepare for the race. Be smart, you only have one body, treat it with respect and give it time to learn the skill of running and you will enjoy running for years to come.  

目前,中国的跑者数量呈指数增长,伤痛终究会成为所有跑者无可避免的大问题,除非我们开始关注长距离跑步和马拉松训练过程中跑步技术的重要性。很多人对跑步充满了热情,他们会去买专业的跑鞋和装备,报名参加各种赛事、马拉松,但这份热情能持续多久?日常训练中的伤痛、马拉松赛后的疼痛,都需要长时间的康复、治疗才能最终痊愈,经历过这些之后,跑者们还能对跑步怀抱信任和喜爱吗?我说的这些也正是我过去40年以来所强调的——不要急于和别人竞争。你可以报名参加马拉松,但是一定要给自己至少4到6个月的时间准备。理智一点,身体健康最重要,要给身体以尊重,同时也要给自己充足的时间来掌握正确的跑步技术,之后你才能真正乐在其中。

I wrote several books about the development of the skill of running, where I presented the concept, model and method of teaching running technique and the skill of movement. They were published in different countries on many languages and I wanted to bring this knowledge to Chinese runners as well. I guess, my prayers were heard and thanks to a great work in translating these books to Chinese, by our dear friend and colleague Hsue Kuo Feng, these books are now published in China. My desire to bring the Pose Method of Running to Chinese running audience is finally fulfilled. Needless to say, I am very glad to have this opportunity to present my 40 years of work to such a “hungry” for knowledge running society. 

这些年,我写过几本关于跑步技术的书,书中讲述了跑步技术的概念、模式和教授方法,被翻译成多种语言在不同的国家出版发行,我也想把书中所讲到的这些知识带给中国的跑者。几年前,这个小小的心愿实现了,我亲爱的朋友兼同事徐国峰,把这些书翻译成了中文,让他们得以在中国出版,中国的跑者因此有了接触姿势跑法的可能。不必赘言,能为这样一群对知识如饥似渴的跑者讲授我40年来的研究和实践成果,是我莫大的快乐。

After publications of my books, during the next visits here to promote them with my son Severin Romanov, who was the main person responsible for the development of these relations, I got a lot of evidence that these seeds of knowledge were planted into the right soil. During several presentations in Universities, libraries, classes in parks, we met hundreds of people genuinely interested in acquiring this knowledge and showing high respect for the sport of running. We now have a network of over 300 Certified Running Technique Specialists all over China and we would like to extend our gratitude to our partners, the Beijing based Running Academy, for their assistance with this. 

我的书在中国出版后,我和我的儿子Severin Romanov再次来华为新书做宣传。这些过程中,我逐渐意识到这一选择远比我们想象的更加意义重大——我们就像把恰到好处的种子播种在了恰到好处的土壤。我们在大学、图书馆和公园进行演讲,到来的观众成百上千,他们对书中所讲的内容表现出了极大的兴趣,并且对跑步这项运动也充满了极大的敬意。这随后3年,我们的合作伙伴跑步学院为姿势跑法开设了9场教练认证课程;目前,我们在全中国拥有了200多名通过认证的跑步教练。在此我也向跑步学院表达我们真诚的谢意,感谢他们一直以来的帮助。

As we return to China more frequently now to continue the process, we see more and more evidence that we are on the right track. We feel very supported by enthusiasm and excitement of our coaches and newly educated runners. Their feedback is just overwhelmingly inspirational. Our next step is to bring education into the practical field of preparation for marathons. The actual program and training camp for the Shanghai marathon will start July 8-9 and will go on for four month till the race this November.

随着我们来中国的次数愈加频繁,我更加坚信我们做的是对的。认证教练和所有接触过姿势跑法的跑者们给予了我们莫大的支持。他们的热情、认可、反馈鼓舞着我们。我们下一步计划将这些教育理念带到真实的马拉松比赛训练中,而跑步学院马拉松PB训练营则让这个想法成为现实。这场针对上海国际马拉松的训练营将于7月8号、9号开始,持续四个月,直到11月份比赛开始。

I am deeply grateful to all the people that I met and had a short interaction with and who brought me so much joy and satisfaction with my work. I hope that this great beginning will serve as a solid foundation for runners across China and help them enjoy running for years to come. 

在此,我想对我遇到的人、带给我无限快乐的人以及在工作上给予我帮助的人表达诚挚的谢意。这次的训练营将会成为一个美好的开始,为中国所有热爱跑步的人开启一段真正快乐的跑步旅程。
