今天要学的这个习语，从字面上可以看出端倪：

Better you than me.

字面的意思是“是你好过是我”，真正的意思是：某个（不太好的）事情（要）发生在你身上了，但这个事情我可不想要，我很同情你，但还好是你不是我。所以，这个习语可以翻译成：

还好是你不是我。/还好我不用。

A: I have to work tonight.

我今晚得加班。

B: Better you than me!

还好我不用！

A: I have three papers due next week.

我下个星期要交三篇论文。

B: Better you than me!

还好我不用！

A: I am going to paint the outside of the house this weekend.

这周末我得粉刷房子外面。

这个习语在英国有个变身：

这个习语可以缩写为：

BYTM

如果有人发信息给你告诉你某件事，你就可以这么回答：

A: I’ll be running a marathon next Sunday.

我下周日去跑马拉松。

B: BYTM.
