劳动节用英语怎么说？

五一劳动节，是我们打工人的节日，所以它的英文是labor Day吗？你要是这么用的话，外国人可是会误会的。

• Labor Day  美国的劳动节

• International Workers' Day/May Day  五一国际劳动节

Labor Day is a federal holiday in the United States celebrated on the first Monday in September.

美国的劳动节在每年九月的第一个星期一，是联邦的法定节假日。

International Workers' Day, often referred to as May Day, is a celebration of laborers and the working classes.

国际劳动节，也被称为五一劳动节，是劳动人民和工人阶级的节日。

当然，Mayday在不同语境下还有其他的意思，比如它可以用作船只或飞行器遇险时的国际无线电求救信号，也是乐队“五月天“的英文名。

小长假你打算去哪玩？

说到五一假期，我们可以用"May Day holiday"来表示，那么大家知道holiday、vacation 和 leave 的区别吗？

• holiday  /ˈhɒlədeɪ /

  在美式英语里，指“节日”或节日带来的假期，及公共假期（public holiday）；而在英式英语中，holiday 泛指各种假期，使用范围比较广。

• vacation  /veɪˈkeɪʃn/

  一般与旅行有关，常指度假或大学的休假。

• leave   /liːv/

  一般用于需要提出申请或者需要批准的假期，例如上班请假。

Do you have Christmas holiday in your country?

你们国家的人过圣诞节吗？

They're on vacation in Hawaii right now.

他们此时正在夏威夷度假。

How much annual leave do you get?

你们的年假有多长？

劳动节已经来临，各处景点都为旅游高峰季做好了准备。那么怎么才能地道地表达人山人海呢？

International Workers' Day is coming, and all the attractions are ready for the tourist season.

At the first day of the holiday, a sea of people surrounded the Great Wall.

假期第一天，长城周围人山人海。

A huge crowds of people poured into the street.

人们成群结队涌上街头。
