“My dear Professor, surely a sensible person like yourself can call him by his name? All this 'You-Know-Who’ nonsense — for eleven years I have been trying to persuade people to call him by his proper name: Voldemort.”

  • 常用表达:call sb by the name 叫某人 ; 直呼其名;call ... by the name of 以… You can call me by my name .

  • try to do sth 1. try hard to do sth He tried hard to vindicate his honor.

  • 2. try one’s best to do sth. Do you believe people can change their destiny? People should try one's best... then leave it to chance.

Professor McGonagall flinched, but Dumbledore, who was unsticking two lemon drops, seemed not to notice. “It all gets so confusing if we keep saying 'You-Know-Who.’ I have never seen any reason to be frightened of saying Voldemort’s name.”

I always confuse my left with my right.

  • be frightened of 害怕;对… In Britain half of women and a fifth of men are thought to be frightened of spiders, irrespective of whether they are dangerous or not。
