英语动词中有一类动词叫系动词，别的实义动词用副词修饰，而系动词要用形容词来修饰。系动词+形容词在语法上叫系表结构。修饰系动词的形容词作表语，其实是说明主语的情况。
一 系动词be
He is tired. She is hungry. We are
thirsty. They're excited. I'm young.
二 感官动词
look看起来 smell闻起来
sound听起来 taste尝（吃）起来
feel感觉（起来） touch摸起来
The flower looks beautiful. The meat smells good.
The music sounds nice.
The vegetables taste sweet. I feel
hot. The
toy touches soft.
三 变得（怎么样） get turn become go
grow
The nights get long(er). The leaves turn
yellow. The days become warmer.
The milk goes bad. They grow old.
四 保持 stay keep remain
You'd better stay warm. They keep
quiet. The house remains tidy.
