Hudson -- City officials were still waiting to hear what caused a June 10 partial blackout in Hudson. "Tuesday [June 10] night's power outage originated with a First Energy/Ohio Edison feed line that registered a fault in a neutral line," according to Hudson Communications Manager Jody Roberts. "The high current flow impacted our system." According to Roberts, only Hudson Public Power customers were affected and power was restored within 30 to 45 minutes. Roberts did not have the exact number of homes affected. Around 10:30 p.m. June 10 readers began posting on the Hudson Hub-Times' Facebook page and Twitter account about the outage. Residents on Brentwood, Weir and Chadbourne drives and Barlow Road reported no power, via Facebook posts. The outage appeared to be sporadic in Canterbury on Lakes. At 10:41 p.m. one resident reported she had power, while another, in the same area, said her power was out. "First Energy was looking into what caused their fault," Roberts said. As of press time, First Energy had not released a cause. Email: ttroglen@recordpub.com |
