The analysis of a poster

 

 

This is a poster about preserving wild animals designed by WWF. WWF is the short from World Wildlife Fund, which is the leading organization in wildlife conservation and endangered species. The poster has the common characteristic of all the posters designed by the organization. It appeals to people to preserve wild animals. There are two leopards in the image. One is the mother and another is the kid. However, there is an XL size label on the mother's back and an S size label on the kid's. This gives a hint that they will be killed and their fur will be made into coats, sold on the market. This is a metaphor. Moreover, the blurred background stresses the dangerous and lonely situation of the leopards in the clear foreground. All of these make people sympathize with them.
