Motorist finds ￡200,000 in banknotes scattered on the side of a Spanish motorway after they were dumped near a police checkpoint

Police have recovered bank notes worth more than ￡200,000 after a passing motorist noticed the cash scattered by the side of a motorway.

Officers found the abandoned cash after responding to an alert about the bizarre discovery on the A4 motorway in Tembleque near Toledo in central Spain.
警察在接到报警称在西班牙中部城市托莱多市的公路上有离奇的发现，之后他们发现了这些被丢弃的钞票。
They are now trying to find out who owns the money and ascertain why it was dumped where it was.

The discovery was made after Civil Guard officers who had mounted a routine stop and search operation on the motorway were told by one of the motorists they had pulled over about the cash.

Detectives are thought to be probing the possibility the bank notes were thrown out of a car window by someone who feared he was going to be stopped and would not be able to justify their origin.

Several Civil Guard patrols found the spot where they were and gathered up an important amount of money that was taken to a bank so it could be counted.

The person who handed it in COULD be the person who dumped it. No one else will claim it, and they''ll have it handed back to them after 12 months. It''s a perfect way to clean dirty money.

The problem is that IF you stopped and decided to pick up the money for yourself,you still have to get through the stop and search police checkpoint... How would you explain the money? or would you just wait in your car and hope the police go away?
