Why does 连读 exist? 是为了虐我们而存在吗?
Of course no

连读的本质是提升语速, 被连读的单词是被弱化的信息

连读的存在是为了增加句子的对比度. 只有当句子的一部分连读弱读, 语速快, 一带而过的时候, 说话人才能把力气用在那些重要的单词上, 把它们吐字清晰地发准发好, 听众才能知道说话人想强调的是哪些词从而把注意力集中在那些词上

所以一切不是重要的信息词, 不是作者想凸显强调的词, 符合连读规则都可以连读, 符合弱读规则都可以弱读, 不符合连读弱读规则, 也都可以读轻读快, 一带而过. 这样才能把spotlight留给那些想要强调凸显的词.
