如果有人对你说：Well,my girlfriend stood me up at our hangout last night,你肯定是把这句英语“说成”中文：拍拖时放我鸽子。

这就是典型的把英语学成中文的例子。

我一直认为，在你有机会用上He stood me up last night这句英语之前，你能先把to stand someone up这句英语“学成”英语，把你的学过的(多种)英语用起来：

(当然，to stand me up有“让我起立站起来”的含义不在今天的学习范围)

1. Well,when you say：My girlfriend stood me up at our hangout last night, you can also say：I got stood up by my girlfriend at our hangout.

2.Well, if your girlfriend stood you up at your hangout last night,that means your girlfriend fsiled to show up at your hangout,at a meeting or at a date.

3. Well,when you say :My girlfriend stood me up at our hangout last night,you mean your girlfriend failed to keep a date or appointment with you.

4.It also means your friend broke a date by not showing up. 

学习英语，能做到“见英语说出更多的英语，用英语”是我们首先需要训练的重要英语技能，而不是仅仅满足于见英语“知道它的中文”，或者只会把英语学成中文。

因为鬼知道，你有没有机会说Well,my girlfriend stood me up at our hangout last night
