“闯红灯”用英语怎么说？真的不是break the red light！

①英语中闯红灯的“闯”

不是用“break”这个动词

常用“run”

run the red light 闯红灯

例：That car is running the red light.
那辆车闯红灯了。

I was afraid of being late for work, so I ran the red light.
我担心上班迟到，于是闯了红灯。

②闯红灯还可以用：jump the red light
jump表示忽略掉，直接过马路

例：
Don't jump the red light.
不要闯红灯。

③还有一个说法：
jaywalk[ˈdʒeɪwɔːk] 乱穿马路

可以表达闯红灯的意思，也可以指其它乱穿马路的行为

例：
If you jaywalk, you could easily get hit by the car.
如果擅自穿越马路，很容易被车子撞到。
