阳江古称高凉，地处广东省西南沿海，紧邻珠三角，扼粤西要冲，是海上丝绸继绸之路的重要补给站及中转站。 Yangjiang, known as Gaoliang in ancient times, is located on the southwest coast of Guangdong Province, close to the Pearl River Delta, and is an important supply station and transit station on the Maritime Silk Road.

位于阳江北部的鹅凰嶂，雨天千山飞瀑，晴日万壑泉鸣。仅白水瀑布总落差就达255米,被誉为广东第一瀑布”。Located in the north of the Yangjiang River, the Goose Phoenix Ridge, a thousand mountains flying waterfall on rainy days; the spring water ripples on sunny days. The total drop of Baishui Waterfall alone is 255 meters, and it is known as the highest waterfall in Guangdong.'
阳江有众多的历史文化名人,如隋唐时期的冼夫人，宋太傅，张世杰；明代才女王若霞；书法家、诗人阮退之；国画大师关山月等等。

有源远流长的历史文化遗存址，如独石仔古人类洞穴遗址，海上丝绸之路中转地,以及太傅墓、北山石塔、七贤书院、石觉寺等等。有深厚的海洋历史文化底蕴,如宋代沉船“南海一号”和最具特色的疍家婚嫁等渔家继文化传统。There are historical and cultural relics with a long history, such as the ancient human cave site of Dushizai, the transit place of the Maritime Silk Road, as well as the tomb of Taifu, Beishan Stone Pagoda, Seven Sages Academy, Shijue Temple and so on. 阳江的民间活动如登高放鹞、龙舟竞度、挥春贴对、诗词歌赋、书法美术、漆画艺术、根雕奇石等民间文化活动。同时,还有高流墟、重阳墟、疍家渔风民间工艺、风味饮食等独具阳江地方特色的民俗民风活动。
Yangjiang's folk activities include climbing and flying kites, dragon boat racing, couplet writing, poetry and song, calligraphy art, lacquer painting art, root carving and strange stone and other folk cultural activities. 南海开渔节、风筝文化节、旅游凡文化节、蚝美美食节赛龙舟和一年一度的高流墟等节庆习俗丰富多彩，精彩纷呈。阳江更是中国风筝之乡,放飞风筝已有1400多年的历史。
The Nanhai Open Fishing Festival, Kite Culture Festival, Tourism Culture Festival, Oyster Food Festival, Dragon Boat Racing and the annual Gaoliu Market are rich and exciting. Yangjiang is also the hometown of kites in China, flying kites have a history of more than 1400 years.
