À la plage

1.  La plage et la topographie 海滩和地貌

La plage - the beach  海滩

Le sable – the sand   沙子

Une plage de sable - a sand beach  沙滩

Une plage de galets - a round pebble beach  卵石滩

Une crique - a little beach between clifs  小海湾

Une dune de sable - a sand dune  沙丘

Un banc de sable - a sand banc, a temporary island  沙滩，沙洲

Une falaise - a cliff  海边的）悬崖，峭壁

Une baie – a bay  大海湾

Une péninsule – a peninsula  半岛

Un rocher – a rock  悬岩

Une côte – a coast  海岸

Une île – an island  岛屿

2.  La mer et l'océan 大海和大洋

La mer - the sea (don't mistake with the homonyms 'la mère' - the mother, and 'le maire' - the mayor)  大海

L'océan - the Ocean (watch out the pronunciation o - say - an/nasal)  海洋，大洋 

Une vague - a wave (strong French 'a' sound, don't say it like the word 'vague')  浪潮

L’eau (f) - the water (pronounced “lo”)  水

Un courant - a current  水流，潮流

Le vent - the wind  风

La marée haute - high tide  涨潮

La marée basse - low tide   退潮，低潮

Les mouettes – seagulls (sounds like mwet)  海鸥

Les poissons – fishes  鱼

Une algue – a seaweed  藻类

Une huitre – an oyster (une nweetr)  迚｡陋趣ｼ瑚圄

Un pin – a pine tree  松树

3.  Le matériel de plage 海滨用品

Un parasol - a sun umbrela   遮阳伞

Une chaise longue – a beach chair  长凳

De la crême solaire - some sun screen  防晒霜

Des lunettes de soleil - sun glasses  太阳镜

Une serviette de plage - a beach towel  沙滩浴巾

Un sac de plage - a beach bag  沙滩包

Prendre un bain de soleil – to sunbathe  进行阳光浴

Faire des chateaux de sable - to build sand castle  做沙堡

Une pelle - a shovel (it kind of sounds like the English 'pail', so it can be confusing)  铲

Un rateau - a rake   耙子

Un seau - a pail   水桶

Bronzer - to suntan  晒黑

Prendre/attraper un coup de soleil – to get sunburned  晒太阳

Un sac étanche - a waterproof bag  密封防水包

Une combinaison de plongée - a wet suit  潜水套装

Des palmes （de plongée） - flippers （潜水用的）橡皮脚掌，鸭脚板

Un masque - a mask  面罩

Un tuba - a snorkle (yes, this one is quite weird !!)  潜水时呼吸用的透气管

Un maitre nageur - A beach/pool guard  游泳教练员

La natation – swimming (the noun)  游泳

Une piscine – a pool (sounds just like “piss in” LOL)  游泳池
