【原】“密码”用英语怎么说？ 真的不是secret number……

我们为了保护自己的隐私，在很多场合都会设置密码，那么你知道“密码”用英语该怎么说吗？

有同学张口就来：不就是secret number嘛。如果真这么说的话，可就闹笑话啦~

也有人会说，下边这个词应该没错吧：password，没错，这个词是非常准确，通常可以表达“开机密码、WiFi密码”。我们来看两个例句：

No one could use the computer unless they had a password.

除非有密码，否则谁也不能使用这台电脑。

WiFi passwords should be a minimum of eight characters, the more random, the better. 

WiFi密码至少应该是8个字符，越随机越好。

但是要注意的是，password不能表示银行卡密码，要表示“银行卡密码、手机卡密码”，需要用下边这个表达：PIN number。它的全称是Personal Identification Number. 例如：

Is your bank card lost, stolen or you forgot the PIN number? 

您的银行卡是丢了、被盗了，还是您忘记密码了？

在美剧《破产姐妹》中，Caroline的小店出现资金问题，于是她去找Earl借钱：

Caroline: Now we have to stay in that neighborhood. We just have to come up with six months rent up front. 

Earl: Well, I'd love to help you, ladies, but I forgot my pin number in 2008. 

-当务之急是要守住这家宝店，我们只要想出，去哪筹六个月的租金就行了。 

-女孩们，我很乐意伸出援手。但我在2008年，就忘了我银行卡的密码。

现在为了提高安全性，很多场合开始应用二维码验证了，那么问题来了，“二维码”又该怎么说呢？

正确的说法是：QR code，它的全称是：Quick Response Code.
