银行卡密码≠ password

提到“密码”，很多人都会想到 password 这个词，但是“银行卡密码”的英语并不是 password。

首先来看看词典上 password 的释义：

password 通常被翻译为“口令；暗号”，它的使用范围比较广泛，一般指由字母和数字、字符组成的密码，比如我们常用的微信、QQ、电脑密码等。

现在，面部识别和声音识别也是 password 的一种。

请输入你的用户名和密码。

You need a password to get access to the computer system.

使用这个计算机系统需要口令。

”银行卡“密码的正确表达

“银行卡密码”的正确表达是 PIN number。

PIN 是Personal Identification Number(个人识别码)的缩写，英语释义为 a secret number given to you by your bank that you use when getting money from a cash machine with a card。

与 password 不同的是，PIN number 通常由一串数字组成，多指在提取现金或办理银行业务时，需要在数字键盘上输入的个人账户密码。

需要注意，PIN 三个字母都大写。

在国外刷卡结账时，收银员就会说：Your PIN number, please.

Never give this PIN number to anybody else.

不要告诉任何人您的密码。

”破解密码“英语怎么说？

除了PIN、password，英语中还有一个词也有“密码”的意思，就是“code”。code 强调用字母、符号代表原始的信息从而得到的 “代码”。

比如：

二维码QR code （Quick response code）

“破解密码”有两种表达：

① decode破译

前缀“de-” 表示“除去；去掉”意思，code 原本就有“密码”的意思，变成 decode 自然就是破解密码的意思啦。

例句：

That makes it possible for hackers to decode such keys in minutes rather than hours.

这使得黑客有可能在几分钟而不是几小时内破解密钥。

② crackthe code

crack 作动词时，有“找到解决方法”的含义，crack the code 就是指成功破解密码。

面部识别是一项新兴的生物识别技术，也是当今国际科技领域的高精尖技术。
